Kent National mixed Fours & over 55s pairs

Over the weekend Kent saw multiple teams participating in the National mixed fours and National over 55s pairs at Solihull indoor bowls club

Both teams played extremely well in the group stages with both teams topping the group and making it into the knockout stages of the competition. Unfortunately Gary's team missing out losing to Herefordshire in the first knockout match. Michael's team on the other hand had a close game managing to squeeze a victory against Cornwall 8-7 to remain in the competition. Unfortunately Michael's team lost in the last 16 to Humberside.


National over 55s pairs

Gary Allard and Alan Harwood of Tunbury started off slow losing 12-5 to Devon. Winning both the next two matches 9-8 and 7-5 to see them finish second in the group. Into the last 32 they played a pair from Hertfordshire, gaining another victory 10-6 to see them into the last 16 where they unfortunately lost to Greater Manchester 13-5

Brian Saxon and Jenny Smith of Hamstreet made their debut at the national over 55s pairs and competed against very strong opponents. Despite their best efforts and playing very well they unfortunately did not make it through the group stages
